Have lunch at a beautiful restaurant at the beach and go afterward shopping at the famous handicraft market of Puerto Morelos.
What will you see?
Visit a jungle camp outside the Riviera Maya and listen to my explanations of how the workers are living and working in the jungle. I will also explain a lot about the history of the jungle camps in Mexico, cenotes, animals, plants, and the medical use of plants. The camp exists for almost 75 years and at the moment 10 - 12 people are living and working there over the week.
Cenote Verde Lucero
Visit an open cenote and have a refreshing swim. The cenote is underground, approx. 180 feet in diameter. You can slide into the water with the zip line, jump down a cliff or climb easily down the staircase to a platform.
Snorkeling in Puerto Morelos
In Puerto Morelos you will embark on a fishing boat and go to 2 different spots at the Great Maya Reef for snorkeling. Snorkeling at the Great Maya Reef is like falling into an aquarium, you will see the most beautiful corals and tropical fish. You have 30 – 45 minutes at each spot to take in the beauty of the Caribbean Sea before heading back to the pier, where you can take a shower and change.
Lunch at the beach
Now it is time for lunch at a nice little restaurant direct at the beach. You can choose between typical Mexican food, Tacos with fish, shrimps or steak, or salad, etc, one soda or juice is included. Enjoy your typical Mexican lunch with a breathtaking view over the pristine beach and the pier to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea
Your last stop will be at a handicraft market in Puerto Morelos, situated just south of Cancun in the Riviera Maya, where they are not only selling their merchandise but also making it in the workshop behind the shops, you can have a look at how they make the jewelry, cloth, pottery or hammocks, in one store they even make all kinds of merchandise from fishbone, like statues, chess boards and lot’s more.
